If you have a complex medical condition, please anticipate the need for a thorough preoperative evaluation with Dr. Sunwoo, as well as your regular physician.
Levels of Anesthesia
There are different forms of anesthesia. A thorough discussion with Dr. Sunwoo will greatly help in determining which level of anesthesia is appropriate for you.
- Local Anesthesia
- Oral Premedication

- Light Sedation or "Twilight Sedation"

Additional Information
- We are certified by the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
- Our staff and surgeons are well versed with basic life support and advanced cardiac life support, respectively.
- We abide by the American Society of Anesthesiologists guidelines. Generally, this means that you must fall within an ASA I or II category to be considered for sedation.
- Remember to not eat or drink anything 6 hours prior to your procedure (can vary with type of sedation) and you must bring an escort with you.
